Dr. Derri Sandberg is a dedicated optometrist with a passion for delivering high-quality, comprehensive eye care and advancing the profession through leadership and advocacy. Originally from Fargo, North Dakota, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Dakota and her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University.
Her clinical training at the Portland Veterans Administration Hospital provided a strong foundation in the management of glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic eye disease. She has also received advanced training in primary care optometry, LASIK post-operative care, vision therapy, strabismus (eye alignment), and ocular disease through work in specialty clinics across Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Sandberg began practicing in 2007 with Dr. Carl Ryan & Associates, now known as Lifetime Vision Care. Over the years, she has remained deeply committed to both patient care and the broader optometric community.
She is a past president of the Oregon Optometric Physicians Association and continues to play an active role in legislative and advocacy efforts at the state and national levels. She also serves on the American Optometric Association’s Billing, Coding, and Reimbursement Committee.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Sandberg enjoys volunteering at her church, where she contributes to both the technology and music teams. In her free time, she and her husband, Mike, enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, and skiing in the Pacific Northwest.
